Things are getting rather serious on the virtual reality front for Apple. The past few months have been filled with news about the technology giant hiring people with expert knowledge of this field.
The hiring spree is both for 3D and virtual reality.
Several of these have been posted on the company’s career website, and all point to plans on entering the VR realm through both hardware and software. From a 3D Perception Computer Vision Algorithm Engineer to a Virtual Reality GUI Designer, it’s all there.
As one job opening states:
“Play a part in the next revolution in user experience by delivering cinematic user interfaces and simplifying human interface in fundamental ways. Build a team to develop new user interaction solutions, while working on innovative products. This engineer will create high performance apps that integrate with Virtual Reality systems for prototyping and user testing.”
Another requires a Game Engineer that not only has knowledge in virtual reality, but also knows the ins and outs of developing a game engine.
Almost all of these job listings are taken down within a matter of days, if not hours, as people have been applying for them at a fast pace. But it does show that Apple is planning something big for the VR space, and things are finally getting serious in this highly interesting field.
